NASA and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) have built a special satellite called NISAR. It will orbit Earth 14 times every day, and in just 12 days it will scan almost all of the planet’s land and ice.
NISAR can spot even the tiniest changes on Earth — like cracks after earthquakes, moving glaciers, or sinking ground. It will help scientists understand how our planet changes and warn people about natural disasters like landslides, volcanic eruptions, and floods.
With its powerful radars, NISAR can see through clouds and even watch the Earth at night. It will also track melting ice in Antarctica and how forests are changing over time.
❓If you had a satellite that could see the whole Earth from space, what would you want to explore with it?
